SUMMARY:Getting Started with Agentic AI
DESCRIPTION:  \n\n\nThis workshop will demystify AI agents\, explaining what they are\, how they work\, and why they behave differently from other AI tools. \n\n\n\n\nMost people have used a chatbot by now\, but AI agents are a different thing entirely and the gap between the two is where a lot of confusion sits. \nThis workshop walks you through what an agent actually is and why it behaves differently from the AI tools you might already be using day to day. \n  \nWhat’s On?\nLooking at how agents get access to your tools and data\, comparing the two main approaches: Model Context Protocol (MCP) and direct API integrations. This will help you understand the trade offs rather than just the buzzwords. \nExploring the differences between running these systems on your own hardware and leaning on cloud services\, which matters for cost and for keeping control of your information. \nBy the end of the workshop\, you will have a clear picture of how an agent is built\, even if you never write a line of code yourself\, so you can have sensible conversations with developers or suppliers. \nThis workshop is aimed at small businesses and charities who want to understand the technology properly before spending money on it. No prior technical knowledge needed. \n  \n\n\n\n\nAbout Digital Pathfinders\nThis fully funded event is part of the Digital Pathfinders programme\, supported by the North East Combined Authority. Attendance is exclusive to SMEs\, charities\, and social enterprises registered or trading in County Durham\, Gateshead\, Newcastle\, North Tyneside\, Northumberland\, South Tyneside\, or Sunderland. \nTo attend\, you’ll need to register with the Digital Pathfinders programme\, which provides access to additional workshops\, events\, and one-to-one support.
